iPhone guide to setup BT Connect (Office 365) mail

1 Open 'Settings', click on 'Passwords & accounts' and 'Add account'.

Click on your provider name if it's listed, otherwise click on 'Other'

2 Make sure 'Email' is checked and click 'Save'.

Your email account is now saved. In the next steps we check if all settings are correct.

3 Click on your newly created email address and choose 'Advanced'. Make sure that the following data is correct under 'Incoming server':

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 995

4 Go back to the previous screen and under 'Outgoing server' click on smtp.outlook.com. Make sure the following information is correct:

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 587

  • I received a prompt to change my password a couple of days ago. I did this but, since then, I've been unable to send mails from my iPhone. I've had no problem sending. I didn't change any other settings initially but, since the problem arose, I've tried to use your instructions. Nothing seems to work though. Please help!

  • I am using an iPad and I have always had a pretty good time sending and receiving mails until it suddenly stopped. Finally I deleted and then added my account back on to the iPad and now after several try's I can send but still not receive using pop.outlook.com port 995? Can anybody help?
