iPhone guide to setup BT Internet mail

1 Open 'Settings', click on 'Passwords & accounts' and 'Add account'.

Click on your provider name if it's listed, otherwise click on 'Other'

2 Make sure 'Email' is checked and click 'Save'.

Your email account is now saved. In the next steps we check if all settings are correct.

3 Click on your newly created email address and choose 'Advanced'. Make sure that the following data is correct under 'Incoming server':

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 993

4 Go back to the previous screen and under 'Outgoing server' click on mail.btinternet.com. Make sure the following information is correct:

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 587

  • I have more than one email address. I'm setting up a new iphone and on of them want accept my password. It's all a bit confusing. I'm not sure if the Email password is the same as my BT account password, I didn't think it had to be. Anyway I can't get it to work. I even tried to log on to my Email through my BT account. That didn't work and when I clicked the "forgot my password" beside the affected Email address it appears to have changed the password for my BT account. can you help please.

  • Since receiving my new I phone from BT I cannot get bt emails on my I pad or on my I phone. When I tried to set up the emails a message came up saying that my username or password were incorrect, can you help?

  • You blocked my emails so had to confirm account and change password. Have done this, put new password in and can receive emails again, BUT Can' t now Send any. Please help, this is wasting so much of my time
