Set up Windows Phone Yahoo

1 On Start, flick left to the App list, tap Settings Settings icon, and then tap Email + accounts.

2 Tap Add an account > Other account.

3 Enter your email adress and password and tap next

4 Tap Internetmail and enter the following information:

Account name: choose a name for the mail account
Your name: enter your own name

Incoming e-mail server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Accounttype: imap
Username: email
Password: your email-password

Outgoing e-mail (SMTP) server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing server requires authentication: yes
Use the same credentials as for the incoming email setup.

5 Tap advanced settings, choose your download settings and tap sign in.

  • is this the same for a yahoo plus account? and do I have to add the port number at the end of the server name (eg smtp.mail.yahoo.com:587) my yahoo setting currently show: Incoming email server: winmo.imap.mail.yahoo.com:993:1 User name: full address including @yahoo.com Password: Outgoing (smtp) email server: winmo.smtp.mail.yahoo.com:465:1 Outgoing server requires authentication: Yes Use the same user name and password for sending mail: Yes
