POP / IMAP pop3
Incoming server pop.outlook.com
Incoming port 995
SSl (security) incoming ssl
Outgoing server smtp.outlook.com
Outgoing port 587
Requires sign-in yes

iPhone guide to setup BT Connect (Office 365) mail

5 Choose 'Add mail account', and enter the following information:

Name: your own name
Email: your BT Connect (Office 365) email address
Password: your BT Connect (Office 365) email password
Description: a personal description

6 Choose pop3 and enter the following details under 'Incoming mail server':

Hostname: pop.outlook.com
Username: your BT Connect (Office 365) email address
Password: your BT Connect (Office 365) email password

7 Under 'Outgoing mail server' enter the details below and choose 'next':

Hostname: smtp.outlook.com
Username: your BT Connect (Office 365) email address
Password: your BT Connect (Office 365) email password

8 Choose 'Done' at the top right and restart the iPhone to activate the settings.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the mail app to use your account.

  • I received a prompt to change my password a couple of days ago. I did this but, since then, I've been unable to send mails from my iPhone. I've had no problem sending. I didn't change any other settings initially but, since the problem arose, I've tried to use your instructions. Nothing seems to work though. Please help!

  • I am using an iPad and I have always had a pretty good time sending and receiving mails until it suddenly stopped. Finally I deleted and then added my account back on to the iPad and now after several try's I can send but still not receive using pop.outlook.com port 995? Can anybody help?
