  • I have 4 BT Internet email addresses that I set up some time ago on my iPad and all work perfectly. However I have been trying to set up a fifth email address and no matter what I do and what settings I use - all found on these pages, I keep getting the message back saying ‘user details not recognised.’ Or something to that effect . Apple says it is a BT problem and BT says it is an Apple problem. I am thinking of moving to Gmail but thought I would give it one last try by asking for help here.

  • I had to change my password for email last week as I had a message from BT telling me to do so. It works on my PC but not on my phone. I deleted the email app with a view to re loading it to see if that worked - I deleted it but now cannot reload it. Help

  • Hi I have not been able to get email on my Iphone since I had to update the information and password on the laptop this weekend, I've tried deleting and setting up the account again on the phone on with the details above but it says either "mail.btinternet.com" is not responding or the username or password for "mail.btinternet.com" is incorrect.or "cannot connect using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?" If you click "yes" to this you get the following message "The SMTP server "mail.btinternet.com" is not responding. Check your network connection and that entered the correct information in the "Outgoing Mail Server" field. According to the above notes I did. Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

  • I've got the same problem as this previous person: I had to delete and reinstall my email account. I reloaded my account and when I went into settings/password& accounts my email does not show the ability to turn on contacts or calendars or notes or reminders. I have lost most of my contacts on my phone (I also have an iCloud email account and the contacts on my phone are picking up contacts from iCloud) the vast majority of all my contacts have disappeared, presumably because my Btinternet.com account is not allowing contacts onto my phone or tablet. Help please.
