Set up iPhone BT Internet

1 Choose settings

2 Scroll down and choose Mail, Contacts and Calendars

3 Tap Add account and select Other

4 Tap Add Mail Account and enter the following information:

Name: your name
Email: your BT Internet email-address
Password: your BT Internet email-password
Description: enter "BT Internet"

5 Choose pop3 under incoming mail server and enter the following information:

Hostname: mail.btinternet.com
Username: email
Password: your email-password

6 Scroll down and under outgoing mail server, enter the following information:

Hostname: mail.btinternet.com
Username: email
Password: your email-password

7 Tap save and in select your emailadress in the next screen.

8 Scroll down and under outgoing mail server choose SMTP.

9 Under Main server select mail.btinternet.com and make sure the following information is displayed:

SSL: none
Serverport: 587

10 Tap done and go to the previous screen. Choose Advanced and make sure the following information is correct:

SSL: none
Serverport: mail.btinternet.com

11 Again, go back to the previous screen. Restart your iPhone to finish the setup!

  • I am unable to access my emails on my iPad and iPhone. I had no problems last night but this morning I received a message telling me that the mail server "mail.btinternet.com" is not responding. I have deleted and reloaded the email accounts several times on both devices but to no avail. I am able the read my emails via BT Yahoo and Outlook. I would value your advice.
