Android guide to setup Plusnet mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your Plusnet email address
Password: your Plusnet email password

3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

imap server: imap.plus.net
Security type: none
Port: 143

4 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

  • my smartphone outlook app requires IMAP username and IMAPpassword which I have no idea what this is … similarly for the outgoing email server. Do you know what these IDs and passwords might be please ?

  • Following instructions on screen but continually failing to log in - Edison email app.. Message says "your username or password is incorrect". Also something about .... if you have a two step set up needs to be app specific password which I don't understand.
