Set up iPhone Virgin

1 Choose settings

2 Scroll down and choose Mail, Contacts and Calendars

3 Tap Add account and select Other

4 Tap Add Mail Account and enter the following information:

Name: your name
Email: your Virgin email-address
Password: your Virgin email-password
Description: enter "Virgin"

5 Choose imap under incoming mail server and enter the following information:

Hostname: imap4.virgin.net
Username: email
Password: your email-password

6 Scroll down and under outgoing mail server, enter the following information:

Hostname: smtp.virgin.net
Username: email
Password: your email-password

7 Tap save and in select your emailadress in the next screen.

8 Scroll down and under outgoing mail server choose SMTP.

9 Under Main server select smtp.virgin.net and make sure the following information is displayed:

SSL: ssl
Serverport: 465

10 Tap done and go to the previous screen. Choose Advanced and make sure the following information is correct:

SSL: ssl
Serverport: imap4.virgin.net

11 Again, go back to the previous screen. Restart your iPhone to finish the setup!

  • for some reason when u change ur password for your e-mail, and u try and save it on ur phone, it doesnt update, so what u need to do is delete the mail account from ur phone and then re-enter it, takes about a minute and worked for me.

Should I still be using ‘smtp.ntlworld.com’ as the outgoing server or something else? Possibly, I am using the wrong password.
