iPhone guide to setup Tesco mail

1 Open 'Settings', click on 'Passwords & accounts' and 'Add account'.

Click on your provider name if it's listed, otherwise click on 'Other'

2 Choose 'Add mail account', and enter the following information:

Name: your own name
Email: your Tesco email address
Password: your Tesco email password
Description: a personal description

3 Choose pop3 and enter the following details under 'Incoming mail server':

Hostname: mail.tesco.net
Username: your Tesco email address
Password: your Tesco email password

4 Under 'Outgoing mail server' enter the details below and choose 'next':

Hostname: mail.tesco.net
Username: your Tesco email address
Password: your Tesco email password

5 Make sure 'Email' is checked and click 'Save'.

Your email account is now saved. In the next steps we check if all settings are correct.

6 Click on your newly created email address and choose 'Advanced'. Make sure that the following data is correct under 'Incoming server':

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 110

7 Go back to the previous screen and under 'Outgoing server' click on mail.tesco.net. Make sure the following information is correct:

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 25

8 Choose 'Done' at the top right and restart the iPhone to activate the settings.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the mail app to use your account.

I`m trying to set up my Tesco email to my iphone as per instructions above but when i press done it just keeps saying veryifying?? evn when i try to rebbot phone the server port numbers change? latest message is: the connection to the outgoing server "mail.tesco.net" failed? please can you help? thanks kiran

  • I bought new iPad ( released this week). I can't set my Tesco.net mail there. It only asks for add mail account - incoming nd outgoing server data ( wich choice via IMAP or POP , nothing about POP3) and failing, it only offers whether I wish to try to set this without SSL. it never progresses any further ( does not allow manual setting or so), thus disables to set up Tesco.net mail account on iPad. Can you help to advice where I fail to set it up?

  • I am trying to set this email account up on my IPhone but can not get it to work. for the host name I am entering mail.tesco.net for both ingoing and out going servers and my email address for the user name. I am selecting 'other' from the first menu

  • I need to make few changes to work see below Hostname: mail.tesco.net Username: email Password: your email-password this didn't work I used the following instead worked a treat Hostname: pop.tesco.net Username: (Start of email only ie john@tesco.net only use (john) Password: your email-password hope this helps bit fiddly but it will work x

  • Can I set up my Tesco email account on my iPhone and iPad as an imap account rather than a pop account so that my email folders copy between my iPhone and iPad. If I try and send an email from my phone or iPad it tells me that - the recipient "a.dougall@tesco.net" was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying. Can you tell me why ?
