Android guide to setup Yahoo mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your Yahoo email address
Password: your Yahoo email password

3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

imap server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Security type: ssl
Port: 993

4 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

  • I always receive my mail on android phone in UK, now I got a problem, I cannot access my mail when I’m in HK. However, I changed the phone number, so I cannot reset my mail password, yahoo locked my account due to wrong attempts of connecting mailbox.

  • After we got a new version of Yahoo. I do not see all in box or folder entries in these categories with out there being a retrieval process. Also you seem to delete older messages in my folders. There was material in there that was Important information. How can I see all mail in my inbox and folder without the search.
