Outlook guide to setup BT Internet mail

1 Start Outlook and open 'Account Settings'.

Click on the file tab and in the 'Information' category click on 'Account Settings'

2 Create a new email account.

In the 'Email' tab, click 'New'

3 Enable 'Server Settings' and click Next.

Check 'Server settings'.

4 Congratulations, your account has been added!

Click on 'Test Account Settings'. If everything goes well, click on next and then on finish.

  • my email was working till November 2020. As I was ill my children took me to Northern Ireland. Due to covid19 restrictions II could not return until May 2021. when I came back I could not get into my email

  • I have had problems since October 2020. I can’t send emails using Outlook and only my Laptop will receive them. I have now found that I have the same problems using the BT App on a Windows machine. It looks like the problem is a Windows setting that changed in an update last October. If anyone can help please send me an email. I can get them on my iPad.

  • I have been accessing email via windows using my btinternet address for some years. Suddenly on May 12th mid afternoon they froze it with a little stripe cross the top of the screen saying they could not access it. Don't know why, their website is very poorly organised and not user friendly..
