iPhone guide to setup AOL mail

1 Open 'Settings', click on 'Passwords & accounts' and 'Add account'.

Click on your provider name if it's listed, otherwise click on 'Other'

2 Make sure 'Email' is checked and click 'Save'.

Your email account is now saved. In the next steps we check if all settings are correct.

3 Click on your newly created email address and choose 'Advanced'. Make sure that the following data is correct under 'Incoming server':

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 993

4 Go back to the previous screen and under 'Outgoing server' click on smtp.aol.com. Make sure the following information is correct:

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 465

Since Friday AOL has blocked my receipt of emails in the iPhone mail app. When I try to reset it AOL asks I agree to some sort of info sharing with my phone, I agree but the account stops there the aol mail account is not added and I have to repeat the process to no avail. I have used aol on my phone for more than 10 years and do not understand why I have to have AOL app separate from my mail. I do t like the app, it is intrusive and keeps sending me notices. I just want my mail in one place. I sound like s spoiled old person. Maybe I should close the account for good— is that the only solution? I am going to delete the app.

I keep getting the error my password isn’t correct - this started after my last iPhone update - everything follows your instructions except for the advance where I have the server port as 993 and you have the imap.aol.com it only allows for numbers

After upgrading to IOS 12.3.1 my mother-in-law could send email but could no longer receive. I deleted the aol account in Settings - Passwords & Accounts. I then added the account again in the same place. Email works both ways now. Hope this helps someone.

I have 36 e-mails & I cannot open them; telling me error message in mail! I changed my password & still cannot retrieve my emails.
