iPhone guide to setup Hotmail mail

1 Open 'Settings', click on 'Passwords & accounts' and 'Add account'.

Click on your provider name if it's listed, otherwise click on 'Other'

2 Make sure 'Email' is checked and click 'Save'.

Your email account is now saved. In the next steps we check if all settings are correct.

3 Click on your newly created email address and choose 'Advanced'. Make sure that the following data is correct under 'Incoming server':

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 993

4 Go back to the previous screen and under 'Outgoing server' click on smtp.office365.com. Make sure the following information is correct:

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 587

  • The mail server pop3.live.com is not responding. My incoming server is set at 995 and I can’t change it to 993 like some sites state it won’t verify

  • Hi! I have pressed in all the details above but when i try to save it it says "Username or password for "hotmail" is incorrect, which it isnt.. So I dont know how to fix this problem as ive tried for a long time now and Ive done it before when it worked, so dont think im doing anything wrong?!? :) Please help
