Outlook guide to setup BT Internet mail

1 Start Outlook and open 'Account Settings'.

Click on the file tab and in the 'Information' category click on 'Account Settings'

2 Create a new email account.

In the 'Email' tab, click 'New'

3 Enable 'Server Settings' and click Next.

Check 'Server settings'.

4 Congratulations, your account has been added!

Click on 'Test Account Settings'. If everything goes well, click on next and then on finish.

  • My email doesn't function properly on my lap top. The format looks the same, but the delete tick-boxes won't tick, the reply, Also forward, archive buttons don't work. I can compose a new message but the contacts don't track. I can't search for any messages/contacts. It works fine on my mobile.

  • A few weeks back, I stopped being able to access my BT email account via Outlook, on any platform. I can access it via the BT Yahoo webmail page. The settings I have specified in Outlook are either those chosen automatically (don't work) or those specified here (don't work). This is utterly unacceptable. If you cannot provide an email service, then admit it.

  • two weeks since I stopped being able to access my email using Outlook. Spent an hour on the phone to support last night with no resolution. Advice given to me... "use BT tech support, however it will cost me!" If only I thought they could help I might try it
