Android guide to setup BT Internet mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your BT Internet email address
Password: your BT Internet email password

3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

imap server: mail.btinternet.com
Security type: ssl
Port: 993

4 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

  • Tried doing exactly what you say to allow me to access emails on my new Samsung smartphone, but all I achieve is "unable to verify". Under paragraph 5 of the setup instructions, is the password REALLY meant to be uw-email-wachtwoord or is there a misprint (particularly as, two lines below it says Incoming poort 110)? Can you help?

  • I have BT email on my Dell Laptop Windows 8.1 and have just put it on my Huawei P smart - both working but when I delete mails on one device I'd like them to also delete on the other device.without repeating the process each time. Is this possible - if so what do I need to do.
