Android guide to setup Yahoo mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your Yahoo email address
Password: your Yahoo email password

3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

imap server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Security type: ssl
Port: 993

4 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

  • I have Comcast mail as well but when I try to add Yahoo as additional, I get the message my pop3/imap is not turned on. Is it possible? I have tried. Thanks

  • My email password is not accepted anymore since I had downloaded the yahoo mail app. I was getting 2 emails from same address but one account keeps prompting me to enter my password and won't load my mail from the day I downloaded yahoo app. I removed my email account and now when I try to add it back it won't accept my password to manually add it. Also it won't prompt me to a page to log in differently or offer to let me change my password. I want the new yahoo mail on my home page but not the app which I removed. I appreciate any help. Thank you.
