Android guide to setup Yahoo mail
1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.
If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.
2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':
Email: your Yahoo email address
Password: your Yahoo email password
3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':
imap server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Security type: ssl
Port: 993
4 Your account is now ready to use.
Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

Your advice was no use.!! Cannot set up my Yahoo mail on Vodafone Android Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. It was working OK but no longer.This problem started after I chose the Yahoo option not to allow 3rd party sign ins. Everyday (after their security problems) it pestered me to switch off 3rd party sign in access, until I said Yes. But now Yahoo does not offer me an option to revert back! Now I can no longer sign in to my Yahoo email on my phone. Including I tried deleting the Yahoo email account off my phone but still I cannot sign in to set it up again as a NEW email account on my phone.!! Followed all your advice / settings. No use.
