Virgin email settings for iPhone

iPhone guide to setup Virgin mail

1 Open 'Settings', click on 'Passwords & accounts' and 'Add account'.

Click on your provider name if it's listed, otherwise click on 'Other'

2 Choose 'Add mail account', and enter the following information:

Name: your own name
Email: your Virgin email address
Password: your Virgin email password
Description: a personal description

3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Incoming mail server':

Hostname: imap4.virgin.net
Username: your Virgin email address
Password: your Virgin email password

4 Under 'Outgoing mail server' enter the details below and choose 'next':

Hostname: smtp.virgin.net
Username: your Virgin email address
Password: your Virgin email password

5 Make sure 'Email' is checked and click 'Save'.

Your email account is now saved. In the next steps we check if all settings are correct.

6 Click on your newly created email address and choose 'Advanced'. Make sure that the following data is correct under 'Incoming server':

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 993

7 Go back to the previous screen and under 'Outgoing server' click on smtp.virgin.net. Make sure the following information is correct:

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 465

8 Choose 'Done' at the top right and restart the iPhone to activate the settings.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the mail app to use your account.

  • I have done exactly as instruc above to mi iPhone 6 . Nothing is verifiable, can't send any emails, I'm receiving some, any ideas?

  • I have a blueyonder account. Have checked all my settings according to you virgin instructions but I cannot send mail. I can't work out why. I often have to delete and then re-input the details.

  • I can not receive emails as it us telling me I the server pass word is required don't know how you will respond as I have no email!!

  • Im having the same problem as eveyone else on here, i can receive emails but unable to send them! pop ups everytime i go on the phone saying my password is incorrect yet it is correct!! Does anyone know whats going on????
