iPhone guide to setup Virgin.net mail

1 Open 'Settings', click on 'Passwords & accounts' and 'Add account'.

Click on your provider name if it's listed, otherwise click on 'Other'

2 Make sure 'Email' is checked and click 'Save'.

Your email account is now saved. In the next steps we check if all settings are correct.

3 Click on your newly created email address and choose 'Advanced'. Make sure that the following data is correct under 'Incoming server':

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 993

4 Go back to the previous screen and under 'Outgoing server' click on smtp.virgin.net. Make sure the following information is correct:

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 465

  • Solved: My password had not changed but my iPhone would not connect any longer. I went on virgin media and RE ENTERED the SAME password and it now works. Apparently it can get corrupted, still work on WebMail but not via IMAP. NOW my problem is how to get Outlook App working on iphone. I can get Apple's App to work but the setup of Outlook is different, yet Outlook has a much better Spam filter which as everyone on VM knows is now vital

  • I cannot access my virgin.net account I keep getting error messages saying I do not have the correct password but I have not changed it I cannot access anything from that account I cannot log in to virgin media because I do not have an account with them

  • not able to send mail from my i phone 6s as of yesterday 11am or so. have had to re set my password with virgin can now log into account and receive mail but still cant send. spoke to them again and they said there is a problem anyone else having same trouble?

  • Since midday yesterday I have been unable to send emails from laptop, iPad or phone, but can receive OK. have tried deleting and reinstating account, changing settings, etc etc

  • As of yesterday (24/3/16), getting problems both on PC and Iphone / Ipad. Can no longer send / forward e-mails from my 'virgin.net' account. Checked settings (port 465 etc.) but not working! A fix would be great!
