iPhone - Virgin mail setup

Incoming server imap4.virgin.net
Incoming port 993
SSl (security) incoming ssl
Outgoing server smtp.virgin.net
Outgoing port 465
SSL (security) outgoing ssl
Requires sign-in yes

Choose settings1
Scroll down and choose Mail, Contacts and Calendars2
Tap Add account and select Other3
Tap Add Mail Account and enter the following information:4

Name: your name
Email: your Virgin email-address
Password: your Virgin email-password
Description: enter "Virgin"

Choose imap under incoming mail server and enter the following information:5

Hostname: imap4.virgin.net
Username: email
Password: your email-password

Scroll down and under outgoing mail server, enter the following information:6

Hostname: smtp.virgin.net
Username: email
Password: your email-password

Tap save and in select your emailadress in the next screen. 7
Scroll down and under outgoing mail server choose SMTP.8
Under Main server select smtp.virgin.net and make sure the following information is displayed:9

SSL: ssl
Serverport: 465

Tap done and go to the previous screen. Choose Advanced and make sure the following information is correct:10

SSL: ssl
Serverport: imap4.virgin.net

Again, go back to the previous screen. Restart your iPhone to finish the setup!11

I have just changed my smart phone to a Apple SE phone. How do I obtain the Virgin email app. This was on my smartphone wth the icon letter "e" .At the present time I can only get into my Virgin email by logging into Virgin Media, as I do on my computer. On the smartphone I just clicked on the "e" and I was into my email?

Solved: My password had not changed but my iPhone would not connect any longer. I went on virgin media and RE ENTERED the SAME password and it now works. Apparently it can get corrupted, still work on WebMail but not via IMAP.

NOW my problem is how to get Outlook App working on iphone. I can get Apple's App to work but the setup of Outlook is different, yet Outlook has a much better Spam filter which as everyone on VM knows is now vital

I can not receive emails as it us telling me I the server pass word is required don't know how you will respond as I have no email!!

I have a blueyonder account. Have checked all my settings according to you virgin instructions but I cannot send mail. I can't work out why. I often have to delete and then re-input the details.

not able to send mail from my i phone 6s as of yesterday 11am or so. have had to re set my password with virgin can now log into account and receive mail but still cant send. spoke to them again and they said there is a problem anyone else having same trouble?

Hi, I have been unable to send e mails since yesterday evening. It says either my password or server name is incorrect. Now I have tried all that has been suggested but nothing works. Is there a problem. It let's me receive e. mails though.

I can reach step7 and then get a message saying " This account may not be able to receive or send emails". At the moment I can receive but not send emails on my new iPad. Help !

Hi,

I am receiving messages from my virgin account on my iPhone but when i try to send an email it says "a copy has been placed in your outbox . The recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying" please help - the server settings are correct - many thanks.

As of yesterday (24/3/16), getting problems both on PC and Iphone / Ipad. Can no longer send / forward e-mails from my 'virgin.net' account. Checked settings (port 465 etc.) but not working! A fix would be great!

I would LOVE someone's help with this anomaly that keeps occurring over the years. My virgin account has always been the only account I have ever owned. As I try to add a mail account, following all your info for setting up iPhone Virgin mail set up, I am always met with the following message: "The outgoing mail server setting provided is intended for O2 customers in the UK. O2 customers should enter their O2 email address in the primary outgoing mail server username field and their password." Subsequently, I can NOT enter an O2 address because I never have had one; and as a result for years I have had inconsistent problems with my Mail on my Apple devices. Can you possibly PLEASE clarify how I can possibly resolve this issue, that would be tremendously welcomed! Many thanks, Mike Winter

I've had my virgin.net account set up on my iPhone/iPad for sometime now. Since Tuesday I have been receiving the following error message "The mail server 'imap4.virgin.net' is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in mail settings. I haven't changed any of the details since it was last sending/receiving mail. Any suggestions?

I have tried deleting my account and reinstalling it but it's not giving me an option of setting it up as IMAP .

Why can I not sent any emails but can receive. Same message comes up "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The send address "kirstie.sharp@virgin.net" was rejected by the server.
